Antiviral Medications

What is viral infection?

Use of anti-rejection medications lowers the body's natural ability to fight off viruses. In the first year after transplantation, the amount of anti-rejection medications you need is the highest to lower your immune system and you are at the highest risk of getting a new or re-activating (waking up) a virus you have been exposed to in the past.
